Salt, Sand or Kitty Litter?

Salt, Sand, and Kitty Litter all have pros and cons dealing with adding traction during the winter times. People argue about which is the right one, which we will help you decide today. To begin, salt is the only of the three that has ice-melting abilities. This is a big pro, as it can destroy sheets of ice. However, on the flip-side, salt may melt when it comes into contact with the melted snow. Next, is sand. Sand has the ability to add traction on slippery surfaces. It is safe to keep in your car for an emergency, and won't harm anything if spilled. It is also fairly affordable. Finally, there is kitty litter. Kitty litter also has the ability, like sand, to add traction to slippery surfaces. However, it is a little more expensive than sand, and if it soaks up too much water, it can become quite sloppy.
